
Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27th, 1976. Gonzalez was born in southern California. He was a student at Huntington Beach High School and was a star basketball and football player. Gonzalez was a star in both sports during his time at the University of California. He led the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. Here, he tied the record for school bowls with nine receptions. Gonzalez led the basketball team into the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament only a few months later. After graduation from high school in 1997, he was selected for the NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as their 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was a part of the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. The Chiefs dealt Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. After his second year in the NFL He never caught more than 59 passes in a season.
