
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His breakthrough role was as Thomas Magnum (private investigator) in the television series Magnum. (1980-1988), for whom the actor was nominated 5 times for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in a Drama Series. The award was presented to him in 1985. Since 2010, Selleck has been co-starring as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan in the series Blue Bloods. Beginning in 2005 He has played the the troubled police chief of a small town Jesse Stone in nine television films inspired by the Robert B. Parker novels.In films, Selleck has played bachelor architect Peter Mitchell in Three Men and a Baby (1987) and its sequel Three Men and a Little Lady (1990). In addition to his role in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in more than 50 movies and television shows, which include the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He appeared in recurring television characters as Monica Geller's love interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends, as Lance White, the likeable and innocent partner in The Rockford Files, and as casino owner A.J. Cooper in Las Vegas. Cooper also had a leading role in the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA) as well as an endorser in ads for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
